Courtesy of Ian Mcnab, we stepped aboard the Duchess of Cocklemoor for a planning meeting. Travelling at water level, collecting ideas and inspiration as we glided past waterways, vegetation, trees, insects, birds and animals.
‘Really inspiring site visit to Langport last week as research for my new public art commission there. I was blown away by the riches of the area, both in the landscape, people and history. What an incredible place! Full of beautiful architecture, independent businesses, a diverse community, the gorgeous River Parrett and surrounding landscape. This day in Langport reminded me of many of the reasons I love Somerset and why I ended up settling here with my family. Now back to the studio and running workshops inspired by Langport’s riches. Thanks for the warm welcome, I’m really grateful.’ Alice Cunningham
