With award-winning Somerset poet Liv Torc
Wednesday 25 November | 6–8pm
Langport Town Hall
What do you love about Langport? What makes you laugh? What do you remember? What tiny moments capture the spirit of the town and the people who live here? What does it smell like on a Sunday afternoon?
You are invited to take part in a fun, freeing and creatively exciting haiku writing workshop, capturing glimpses of life in Langport – those little moments of human wonderfulness, everyday magic, memories and stories that give the town it’s unique character.
This playful two-hour workshop will explore the art of the micro-moment through haiku – helping you turn your thoughts, observations and memories into brilliant bite-sized expressions of poetry.
Together we’ll gather these moments and weave a wonderful collection of words and stories that can help inspire a new public artwork for the town centre, being created by artist Alice Cunningham as part of the Langport Interchange Art Project.
Liv has worked with thousands of people across the world, helping them discover the joy of expressing themselves through poetry. From Somerset village halls to the United Nations, her workshops are full of laughter, imagination and unexpected creative discoveries.
You don’t need to be a poet, or have any writing experience at all. Just bring yourself, your memories and your curiosity. Everyone can do this, and you might be amazed at what you create.
Come and help us wrap Langport in the stories of the people who love it!
No previous experience needed – just bring yourself and your curiosity!
Free | Adults and young people aged 14+
